It’s been quite some time since I posted. I needed to take a much-needed break. Sorry for the delay.

When I last posted, I was in an internship, doing PCI Compliance, and my role as a technical resource/technical lead was writing very detailed technical reports. It wasn’t a hands-on keyboard role, well, not in the hacker command-line practical sense. I learned a lot from the experience and got some much-needed exposure to the consultant side of the industry which allowed me to grow in ways I never knew that I could.

I did it I got my eCPPT!

Now, on to the next topic. The OSCP. I have my exam scheduled for 8 June, right around the corner! I’m nervous again, but I feel much more confident this time. However, I have so much to learn along the way.

Last month I took the PTP exam through eLearnSecurity and obtained my eCPPTv2 certification. It’s something that I put on the backburner for a while because of life, pretty much. It was either the internship’s or the certification, and I chose the former because I wanted to gain real-world experience.

The PTP exam was… different… compared to the OSCP exam, but I’ll go into more detail about that in an upcoming blog post.

New exam requirements? Active Directory! Whaaaaat?

So there I was, thinking to myself, what am I going to do!
I don’t have any lab time. I didn’t practice on AD at all and focused my attention on buffer overflows, and now I’m secretly crying inside.

What am I doing? Why am I all over the place?

I don’t know.

Keeping it real. I just know that I love what I do, and I’m going to see it through.

So, here’s what I have planned next before exam day.

Become a Certified Red Team Professional (CRTP)

The above and Proving Grounds is where my focus will be moving forward. I’m also looking for any opportunities available out there for entry level penetration testers. And that’s pretty much it for me everyone.

It continues to be a wild ride, and I just want to say, thanks for following my journey into penetration testing.
